5 ways to hook your ideal client.

May 30, 2022

I think we all have a bit of a love-hate relationship with Social media. I know I do anyway.

The world we currently live in is one where we are dominated by our short attention span and addictive, clickbaity Social Media gimmicks. And yes, I know that this kinda conveys the toxicity of SM, but at the same time, we have to use it to our advantage.

Social media can feel like a big ol’ time warp that sucks you into a portal of scrolling. And scrolling.

And scrolling.

But… If you have a message to get out there – a business or an idea, there are just too many potential opportunities, potential sales on FB, Instagram and the likes, to completely avoid using SM.

This means, using this attention-grabbing strategy, hooking readers into your offering or content, is the key.

Yes, it’s not just gonna be your writing or caption that captures attention, you’ve gotta make sure you combine this with effective branding, and consistent strategy, BUT words work.

Here are my top tips to hook your readers with your written content:

TIP 1:

⚠️Emojis⚠️ – They might look a bit over the top or stupid, but it caught your attention, hey? Make sure they’re relavent and appropriate, but other than that, go wild 🌴🦖🦎

TIP 2:

Give the reader a thought-provoking question to answer in their head. Have a look at some of my captions, I bet you’ll answer the question and keep reading without even realising 🔮

TIP 3:

Think about what your audience wants or needs to know ASAP. Whether it be about your product, service or idea, make it clear ✅

TIP 4:

Alternatively, come up with something strange and random, to capture curiosity! Use a funny metaphor, maybe a different word. The world is your oyster.

TIP 5:

Finally, a little bit of conversational flair goes a long way. Chat to your audience like you would your friends. After all, we’re all friends here  🥳

At the end of the day, consider what makes people want to hear what you’ve got to say – for me on Instagram, it’s always been about the written content. If people like what they read, that’s a win for me.

If they like the style and design of my content, that’s just the cherry on top.

When all is said and done, written content and copywriting are truly about creating an understanding and a connection. You can read all of the books and do all of the studies in the world, but if you don’t understand what drives your content, intrinsically and extrinsically, it will all mean nothing.

With an Insta or FB post, you know that you have to GRAB that attention with impactful copy and eye-capturing graphics. This can be great – I think it’s fun to see the cool ways that people do this.

On the other hand, with a blog, you still have to hook people in for attention, but it’s a medium that allows a little more freedom.

Unbridled crap-talking is one of my greatest talents (and fatal flaws), but it means that I can get my message out there in a way that’s a lil bit different.

Use your talents and expertise to your advantage, and I promise you’ll find yourself generating a HEAP more interest.

Struggling to figure out how exactly to do that?!
